Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp confident http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-Maseru-c38430 and Liverpool will improve next season
Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp revealed he was confident he could improve his squad in the summer and transform them into title contenders for next season. Despite managing to remain in the top three on the Premier League table, a recent lapse in
performance saw the Spurs slump to fifth position with 53 points from 31 games.
Redknapp’s side impressed everyone domestically and in Europe, reaching the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. They were eventually eliminated by Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid, but what’s impressive is that they beat the likes of Serie A giants Inter
Milan and AC Milan to reach that stage of the European Cup competition.
Like his own side, Redknapp was confident the other underachievers this season Arsenal and Liverpool would do better next season. The Gunners are currently second on the Premier League table but a draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 over the weekend severely damaged
their chances of closing the gap with league leaders Manchester United.
Despite an impressive start, Arsene Wenger’s side suffered a decline due to injuries to key players and once again look to end their season trophy-less. More than anything, they suffered a crisis in defense and in goal, the season seemed to slipping out
of their hands and retired German keeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jens-Lehmann-c18297 had to be brought back in to help them back into the title race.
Liverpool have had a similar season and are on their way to ending up without any silverware and qualification for the UEFA Champions League. Apart from injuries, they have had many changes in management, with Kenny Dalglish replacing Roy Hodgson and the
New England Sports Venture taking over the club.
Since the arrival of Dalglish, the Reds have improved drastically and are now trying for a place in the top six to guarantee Europa League football next season. The departure of striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and the arrival of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll
has been very good for the club and the Spurs boss was certain they would build on this form next season.
“Everyone will go at it in the summer. Arsenal will. Liverpool will - Liverpool are going to be a team to be reckoned with next year. They've been out of the Champions League, but I don't see that happening again after next season. With Kenny Dalglish there,
I think they'll have a real go for it,” said Redknapp.
The Spurs boss revealed most of the underperforming clubs needed to strengthen their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window if they wished to improve the following season. Redknapp continued, “If you want to be a top club, you need top players. There's
no other way of doing it. There's no magic formula.”
