Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp defends Arsenal’s Arsene Wenger: EPL News
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has leapt to the defence of under-fire Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger. Redknapp believes that the Frenchman has been forced to endure unjust criticism throughout the season. His comments come just
before Arsenal travel to White Hart Lane to take on Spurs in their crucial Barclays Premier League encounter on Wednesday night.
Arsenal have seen their season unravel completely in the past few weeks. The Gunners were in with a shot of winning the quadruple this season. However, a string of terrible results saw them crash out of the FA Cup, Champions League and
the Carling Cup competition in the space of just two weeks. Now, Arsenal are left with only the Premier League title to fight for, and so far, they are fighting a losing battle.
Last Sunday’s 1-1 draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 left them six points adrift of league leaders Manchester United. With just six games of the season left to play, it seems as if there is no way back for Arsenal. Manager Arsene Wenger has been
taking a lot of heat for what many believe has been a disappointing season for Arsenal, something that Harry Redknapp considers to be unfair.
The Spurs boss said, “I don't understand the criticism (of Wenger) at all but that's what you expect in football, you get that in this game now. If he was angry about it then I don't blame him. I would have been too."
Redknapp added, "If you lose a few games some people call these silly phone-ins and say 'they were rubbish today. They were absolutely useless' when they weren't even at the game, they were listening to it on the radio or shopping with the wife.”
The Tottenham boss further said, “I don't listen to them. I don't want to listen to a bunch of idiots. They must have sad lives."
Arsenal will face Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, a match which they absolutely have to win if they are to keep alive their hopes of ending their long-standing trophy drought.
