Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has denied reports that he has resigned as manager of the London club.
The English manager has spoken up against the rumours which put an end to his career at the English Premier League side. Certain reports claimed that Redknapp had resigned as Tottenham Hotspur manager since he was not given a new contract.
While it is true that Redknapp has not been offered a new contract and currently has just a year remaining on his current contract with the London side. After being linked with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, which was given to Roy Hodgson, talks have stalled regarding
a possible new contract.
The 65-year-old admitted earlier this week that he would feel uncomfortable leading Tottenham Hotspur into the new season without a new contract. However, he revealed he would leave the decision up to the club and chairman Daniel Levy.
Redknapp confirmed in an interview:
“No, I haven't resigned, and I have no idea why it is being suggested that I have resigned. This is an outrage; an absolute liberty for people to be putting around this kind of rumour on the internet. It is not true, there is not a chance I will resign.
Why should I?”
As for the rumours regarding his resignation, Redknapp dismissed the claims and left it down to a joke started on the internet. He claimed he had no desire to resign any time soon and would continue on as the manager of the club until his contract expired
or if he was asked to leave.
That decision too, lay with the club’s management. Redknapp felt it was up to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy to decide if he was to be offered another contract. He also revealed how uncertainty about his future had caused uncertainty amongst many players at the club.
He revealed:
“The simple situation is, I've got a year left on my contract. It's up to Tottenham whether they want to extend that contract or not. If they don't extend it and I go into my last year, it's not an easy one when players know you've only got a year left.”
