Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp invites http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Beckham to the EPL
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp admitted that he would still want English midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Beckham-c10432 to join the Spurs. After training with the London side in the latter half of last season during the Major League Soccer off-season, the 36-year-old
has been constantly linked with a return to the English Premier League.
Beckham moved to MLS side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 in 2007 from La Liga giants Real Madrid, and will be out of contract this November. He has not yet decided on his future, which has increased speculation regarding his future especially since the midfielder feels
he can still play top level football.
Along with Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 are also contenders for Beckham, but it is fairly obvious who the former Manchester United player will prefer if given the choice. In addition to their obvious advantage over the newly promoted QPR, Redknapp
has openly welcomed the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 skipper.
Redknapp praised the player’s accurate passes and the fact that he had remained fit even at 36 years. He revealed that while Beckham did not play a fast-paced game, he was still good enough to play for a top English Premier League side.
Redknapp said while speaking to reporters:
“If David wants to come to Tottenham I'd welcome him with open arms. He's definitely still good enough to play in the Premier League.
His game was never about pace so whether he's quick or not isn't an issue.
David's unique quality is his use of the ball and his ability to pick out a player with a pinpoint pass. He is unbelievable and still an exceptional talent.”
Redknapp admitted that while he did not expect Beckham to start every game, he hoped the midfielder would prove to be a role model for the younger players at the club. Having played for various teams, Beckham has the type of experience that would benefit
any club.
He continued:
“He's the best example there is for any young player, how he looks after himself, how he trains and how he's stayed an ordinary guy despite his extraordinary success.”
