Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has claimed that he will not be buying any players in the January transfer window.
However, the English manager admitted that he would make an exception if a special player became available in the winter transfer window. The Spurs, who are currently at third place on the Premier League table, have been in top form since losing to Manchester
United earlier on in the season.
They recently drew against Swansea City, but Redknapp was not too worried since league leaders Manchester City and Manchester United lost their respective fixtures over the weekend. The manager revealed he had no plans of bringing in new players.
Redknapp said while speaking to reporters:
“I don't really see us doing anything. I'd be surprised. It's hard to find players; I couldn't say that we have anyone in mind we would want to bring in.”
With the return of Michael Dawson and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kyle-Walker-c21566 doing exceptionally
well.
He revealed:
“It is difficult to see me bringing anybody in really as we have a strong squad. I have http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ledley-King-c21859 so we are not short there.
The young right-back Kyle Walker has done well, I have an excellent left-back in Benoit Assou-Ekotto and we have cover there with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Rose so I am not short anywhere.”
With Dawson returning for Tottenham Hotspur in defence and Ledley King showing an improvement in his fitness, Redknapp did not think they were short of defenders. Even though the Spurs were initially linked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439, Redknapp does not seem to want
the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international.
He did however, want Manchester City striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Argentina-c2841 international is unsettled at the Etihad Stadium and Redknapp revealed that while he would not mind singing Tevez, he did not think he could afford the services of the former Manchester
United man.
Redknapp said:
"He is a fantastic player but I can't see that I could afford his wages, he is on over £200,000 a week.”
