Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has urged the club to consider giving him a new contract since he will be out of contract next season.
The English manager took charge of Tottenham Hotspur in October of 2008 and took them from the bottom of the table to an eighth place finish. Since then they have improved by leaps and bounds, making to fifth and fourth place positions on the English Premier
League table.
However, his existing contract with the Spurs expires at the end of next season and there have apparently been no talks of a new contract. Redknapp was linked with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 earlier, but the FA eventually decided to pick Roy Hodgson for the job.
The past season has been bittersweet for Tottenham Hotspur and Harry Redknapp. While they managed to beat the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 to a fourth place finish, with Chelsea winning the UEFA Champions League, the Spurs lost out on the chance of playing
in the Champions League next season.
That has led to speculation regarding his future at the club, especially since the management at Tottenham Hotspur have not offered him a new contract. However, Redknapp confirmed he had no problems with the chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy as reported by media.
Redknapp said in an interview:
“I've never had a problem with Daniel Levy. I've probably got on as well with Daniel as I could any...”
He continued:
“It's up to Tottenham. If they think I'm okay and I've done a decent job an deserve an extension, they'll give it to me. If Daniel doesn't think I'm worth it, that's up to him, that's up to the club. There's nothing I can do about it.”
The English manager revealed he was hoping the Spurs offered him a new contract as soon as possible if they believed he had done a decent job in the past and would continue to do well in the future. However, he revealed he could not do much if the management
at the club were looking for a change.
Redknapp concluded:
“If Daniel doesn't think I'm worth it, that's up to him, that's up to the club. There's nothing I can do about it.”
