season.
Redknapp said in an interview:
“When we went one down we were concerned because you think maybe it's going to be one of those nights.
They played their socks off but at half-time we could have been three goals up, we were hitting the woodwork and their 'keeper was making saves.”
He continued:
“I thought it was a matter of time before we scored but they went and scored with their first real strike at goal and you think it's one of those nights, but we stuck a couple of chances away.”
Despite wanting to do well in the Europa League, Redknapp revealed the English Premier League remained a priority. The Spurs are targeting a top four finish to guarantee a place in the Champions League next season, something the Tottenham Hotspur manager
feels his side is capable of.
“I want us to have a real go in the Premier League this year and we are capable of doing that. We have fantastic players here, we play some great football, we are a good team.”
With new arrivals in the summer transfer window and already present players, Redknapp was certain his side would manage a decent position at the end of the season as long as they remained consistent. It was their slump towards the end of the season because
of which they missed out on the Champions League spot this season.
