Tottenham Hotspur boss Redknapp states that Real Madrid players have good acting skills- UEFA Champions League news
Tottenham Hotspur coach, Harry Redknapp, has accused Real Madrid players of ‘playing acting’ as they played their part in the dismissal of striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741.
English Tottenham Hotspur are up against Spanish giants, Real Madrid, in a two legged quarter-final in the UEFA Champions League. The first leg was a home fixture for Real Madrid as the Los Blancos recorded a comprehensive 4-0 victory over their opposition.
Tottenham suffered a serious blow as in the 15th minute striker, Peter Crouch, was sent off after receiving a second yellow card, the Englishman was first booked for a tackle on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 and later he received his marching orders for a challenge
on defender, Marcelo Vieira.
Redknapp feels that Real Madrid players certainly played their part in the sending off of Crouch with their theatrics, defenders, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670, and, Marcelo pleaded referee, Felix Brych, to send-off the player after his second challenge.
He said, “They (Real players) made a meal of it. They made sure they got him sent off. When it happened they were all after the referee and overacting and the player was rolling around”.
Redknapp states that he does not hold a grudge against Crouch despite the striker’s sending off playing a pivotal role in Tottenham’s embarrassing 4-0 defeat.
He added, "Crouchy made a mistake and no one could feel more sorry than he does. He’s been great for me over the years. He's made a mistake. These things can happen”.
Redknapp has some fitness concerns as he looks forward to the Barclays Premier League match against Stoke City, defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vedran-Corluka-c35947, picked up an ankle injury and he is doubtful to feature in the playing eleven in the near future.
Corluka feels disappointed to be out of the side, he stated, "We will see what the results of the scan are. I don't know how long I will be out for. I don't think I will be available for Saturday”.
It is going to be an uphill struggle for Tottenham to overturn the deficit as the two sides meet for the second leg of the quarter-final at White Hart Lane on April 12, 2011.
