Tottenham Hotspur boss claims side can win English Premier League
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp says that his side have what it takes to win the English Premier League this season.
The White Hart Lane club are currently in sixth place in the EPL table, with 22 points from 14 games. However, a string of poor results by sides above them mean that they are within six points of leaders Chelsea and Manchester United.
Spurs have already beaten fierce rivals and fellow title contenders Arsenal this season, and they also have victories over Aston Villa, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers to their name.
With 24 games of the season, a lot can still happen and Redknapp claims that his squad have the talent and motivation to be considered legitimate contenders for the league title this year.
Redknapp wrote in his column for The Sun: "This season we're definitely outsiders but with this group of players I have said it's not an impossible ask.
"The title race is more open this year than for many. And I think neutrals like to see a fresh face in the mix. We had Everton not so long ago, now Tottenham, who finished in the top four last season. With this group of players I wouldn't want anyone to
rule us out."
Redknapp will next lead his men out on domestic duty when they welcome regular top-four finishers Liverpool to White Hart Lane on Sunday 28 November.
Spurs' good form in the EPL has extended to their debut appearance in the UEFA Champions League, in which they have defeated opposition of the calibre of Dutch champions FC Twente, German outfit Werder Bremen and defending European champions Inter Milan
to qualify for the last 16 of the tournament. They could also finish as group winners if they better Inter's result against Werder when they play Twente in the last group game.
