Tottenham Hotspur coach Clive Allen confirms http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/William-Gallas-c36874 return to training
Tottenham Hotspur coach Clive Allen revealed he was hopeful the London side were looking forward to welcoming back Steven Pienaar and William Gallas. The duo have been absent for some time now but could be making their comeback this Sunday.
The Spurs welcome Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 last weekend and will be looking to continue their
winning ways.
However, Harry Redknapp’s men will be strengthened by the return of midfielder Steven Pienaar and defender William Gallas. Both the players have reportedly returned to training and according to sources could be playing some role against QPR.
Allen said while speaking to reporters:
“We're pretty much as we were at the weekend. There's one or two players coming back who are joining in.”
While the rest of the squad remains unchanged, the Spurs expect to include Pienaar and Gallas for the team that will play this weekend. The addition of these players will solidify the squad that registered a 2-1 win over Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 in their last Premier
League fixture.
He continued:
“Steven Pienaar and William Gallas are back in training, which is good, so we'll hopefully have one or two more to select from on Sunday.”
Pienaar, the 29-year-old South African, missed the beginning of the season after transferring to Tottenham Hotspur from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 in the summer transfer window due to a groin problem. He ultimately had to undergo surgery on his groin, which was successful.
He had been in recovery since then, but it seems he has recuperated sooner than expected and is ready to make his return. Gallas on the other hand, was sidelined due to calf injuries, which he finally seems to have overcome.
Allen revealed:
“I don't know if William will play but he could well be involved, he may make the bench. It just depends on the reaction to his training this week.”
Both players have indeed returned to training with the rest of the team but it is not yet certain just how big a role they will be playing over the weekend.
