Tottenham Hotspur midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Huddlestone-c35227 is set to undergo surgery on his ankle on Friday after sustaining further injury.
The 25-year-old has been sidelined since the beginning of the 2011-2012 season, August, but Tottenham Hotspur revealed his rehabilitation was going as planned. The ligament damage that has kept out Huddlestone was thought to be on the mend after the player underwent surgery but that has not been the case.
The London side revealed on their official website that they expected the player to recover after the second surgery, which was scheduled for Friday. The club admitted Huddlestone had made progress during his rehabilitation and was expected to return to full fitness shortly after.
The club’s official website claimed:
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-c35214 will undergo a second stage of surgery on Friday to further his recovery following ankle surgery at the end of last year.
The midfielder has progressed well since his initial surgery with the specialist determining that the anticipated reconstruction of a lateral ankle ligament is the next step towards the England international making a return to full fitness.”
Huddlestone joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2005 from Derby County and went on to spend the first few months of his career with the Spurs on loan with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The England international returned to White Hart Lane in the January transfer window and made his debut against Fulham.

The player, who has been capped by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 on a number of occassions will now sit out the next few weeks on the sidelines as Tottenham look to secure a spot in the UEFA Champions League next season.
However, the Spurs player is still young and it would not surprise many if he was to make a quicker than expected recovery.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp, has found himself in the spotlight after he emerged as the overwhelming favourite to take over as manager of the national side.
However, Redknapp, who was recently acquitted of tax evasion charges, claims that it would be very difficult for him to leave the London side. Those words, however, have done little to convince the media and speculators alike, who still have him as the most likely man to lead England into the Euros this summer.
