Tottenham Hotspur defender Ledley King's injury continues before Champions League’s Inter Milan journey
The worst for Tottenham Hotspur has finally been announced. It seems that the men from White Hart Lane will be entering the arena without a leader, as their last hope, Ledley King, will not participating in the Champions League
clash against Inter Milan.
Inter Milan, who happen to be the defending champions of the tournament, are in contrast to the position Spurs are troubled by. They have many star players in their squad that can step up to perform and led as inspiration so that
their team can win the bout.
Now Spurs will be walking on the field without a captain, while on the other hand, the Nerazzurri have many players to step up and perform if one of their players goes down.
On the bright side for the Whites, the Italian giants will be without many of their star players and therefore, the English manager Harry Redknapp will be looking forward to target these areas.
The Spurs will desperately browse around for a replacement for King, who has been ruled out after failing to rehabilitate from his groin injury.
They will also be without the services of their star striker Rafael van der Vaart, who was bought in the last hours of the summer transfer window. He has been suspended and so will be witnessing the match from the sidelines.
The 29-year-old defender King will not be participating in Wednesday’s Group game. Van der Vaart has been called out after a one match suspension as he was sent of the pitch in the match against FC Twente when he challenged recklessly.
Harry Redknapp has his fingers crossed so that William Gallas remains fit enough to play in the match. He has already made his return to the team when Spurs beat Fulham in an EPL fixture. Younes Kaboul is also on the (im)probable
list as he has failed to make a recovery and along with him it seems that Sandro will be deemed unfit to play.
The probable team for Tottenham Hotspur will be Heurelho Gomes, Carlo Cudicini, Alan Hutton, Gareth Bale, Willian Gallas, Sebastien Bassong, Younes Kaboul, Vedran Corluka, Jermaine Jenas, Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Tom Huddlestone,
Aaron Lennon, Wilson Palacios, Niko Kranjcar, David Bentley, Luka Modric, Giovani Dos Santos, Peter Crouch, Robbie Keane, Roman Pavyluchenko and Stipe Pletikosa.
