League Two side Bradford City AFC have allowed Oscar Jansson, the 20-year-old goalkeeper, to return to English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur before he was scheduled too. Jansson moved to the club on a one month loan deal, but returns to White Hart
Lane after the League Two side signed stopper Matt Duke.
During his short stay at the club, Jansson did really well in helping his side secure a win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. The young http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sweden-c3015 under-21 international stepped up in the penalty shoot-out and guaranteed a victory over
their Yorkshire rivals.
However, the club recently managed to sign Duke, the 34-year-old goalkeeper, who has had experience playing for various sides. The English stopper has played in the English Premier League for Hull City, which is why Bradford City are happy to welcome him
amongst their ranks.
The Bradford City manager Phil Parkinson revealed that while he felt Jansson was a terrific young goalkeeper, he did not think they required his services any longer after having signed Duke. With two other keepers already present in the squad, Bradford City
did not need Jansson anymore.
Parkinson said in an interview:
“I'd firstly like to thank Oscar for all his efforts during his time here.”
In addition to new arrival Matt Duke, Jon McLaughlin is also present at the club and even though Jansson did well for the club, he was not wanted at the League Two side. The manager thanked the youngster for his time at the club and wished him luck for his
future.
He continued:
“Unfortunately for Oscar, though, we cannot sustain three goalkeepers on our books at the moment with Dukey [Matt Duke] and Jon [McLaughlin] here as well.
I am sure fans will remember Oscar fondly, especially thanks his penalty saves in the Sheffield Wednesday match.”
Jansson started his senior career with Tottenham Hotspur in the 2009-2010 season, but has not yet made any appearances for the London side. He has been loaned out to Exeter City, Northampton Town and more recently Bradford City.
With a career total of 16 appearances for all clubs in all appearances, Jansson now returns to White Hart Lane. There is a possibility that he will most likely be sent out on another loan move in the near future, so he can gain first team experience.
