Tottenham Hotspur looking to bring back Dimitar Berbatov
Tottenham Hotspur are rumored to be wanting to make a shock recall for their former striking sensation http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254. The Bulgarian, despite having a good season in patches, is finding it harder and harder to break into the first team and secure a starting role at Old Trafford. He is also more than likely to miss out even more in the future, once Javier Hernandez gets used to life in the Premier League.
On the other hand, Harry Redknapp seems to be growing infuriated with the inconsistent and poor displays from his strikers so far this season. So far all the strikers at the club have managed to contribute six goals to the twenty five that Tottenham have scored so far this season and as a result the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 are being linked with moves away from the team, in order to create space for new strikers. However if Redknapp could have it his way, then instead of landing a number of new players, he would be more than happy to recoup a former player, in the shape of Berbatov.
Berbatov despite having scored ten goals so far this season, has managed to score eight of those goals in just two games. He has also managed to go ten games in a row without finding the back of the net, before ultimately netting five past Blackburn. This inconsistency from the player is something that seems to have ticked off Alex Ferguson and the manager might just get tempted to offload the player, if the opportunity was to arise.
United secured the services of Berbatov for a whopping thirty million pounds way back in 2008. However Ferguson is reported to be willing to let go of the player for around twenty million pounds, to whoever is interested in securing the services of the player.
Tottenham happen to have the funds to land the player, but it seems rather unlikely that the team will move in for the player in the winter transfer window. This is because Berbatov would be cup tied and would be largely useless to the teams Champions League cause. Nonetheless according to most experts Redknapp will be weighing up his options over the remainder of the season, before ultimately making the swoop for Berbatov in the summers.
