Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp wishes to retain on loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp admitted he wanted to sign http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 on a more permanent basis. The Togo international is currently on a season long move to White Hart Lane from rivals Manchester City.
He has more than made his mark since joining the Spurs, making 12 appearances in the English Premier League and scoring 8 goals. However, the fact remains that he would have to return to the Etihad Stadium once the current season is over.
The thought doesn’t settle well with Redknapp, losing a striker who has proved to be such a success in such a short period. Not only are his individual efforts worth applause, he has done well to team up with existing striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359.
Redknapp said in an interview:
“I would like him here full-time. It would be difficult, but we like him. He's done great for us. He gives us loads of movement when he plays, and he's a real handful.”
According to Redknapp, it was a pleasure having the Togolese striker at the club and he didn’t wish to lose him at the end of the season. He admitted the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 man had gone on to be an essential part of the club and it would be a pity to not retain
him past the season.
He revealed:
“I've enjoyed having him here. He's been as good as gold. He's not been a minute's problem.
He just gets on with it. He's an important player for us and he knows that. He's been here 11 games and we've won 10 and drawn one so you certainly can't complain about the start he's had here.”
The reason why Adebayor left Manchester City was incompatibility with the manager, but Redknapp has faced no such problem from the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Togo-c3022 international. In fact the manager revealed the player was rather friendly and did well in training, which made him a
natural first choice for the starting XI for any upcoming fixtures.
Redknapp said:
“He's lively. He comes in every day, he enjoys his training and looks like he enjoys being here so it's good.”
