Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Giovani Dos Santos, has aimed to regain his lost form after enjoying his loan spell at Racing Santander.
Dos Santos showed a lot of promise after emerging from Barcelona’s youth academy and earned comparisons with the Brazilian playmaker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ronaldinho-c31733. After seeing first-team opportunities hard to come by, the Mexican decided to leave the Spanish Champions to
further his career.
Dos Santos moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008 but his career has slid down ever since. The midfielder could not impress at White Hart lane and was continually loaned out to other clubs. He was initially loaned out to Championship club, Ipswich town, and
Turkish side Galatasaray signed him on a loan deal the next season. Failing to make a mark with the Turkish side, he was loaned out to Spanish La Liga side, Racing Santander.
The 22-year-old has had a change of fortunes during his stay at El Sardinero and has bagged five goals in 15 appearances for the club so far this season.
The midfielder believes that he can perform at the top level but lack of first-team opportunities given to him by Spur’s manager, Harry Redknapp, have lead to his failure at the club. The Mexican performed brilliantly at 2010 FIFA World Cup and was voted
as the runner-up for the FIFA young player of the year award.
Talking to the reporters, Dos Santos said, “I came back from the World Cup, played during pre-season and performed very well in several games, but yet again I wasn’t given an opportunity. I trained hard and gave 100 per cent during the week because I wanted
to convince him to give me more playing time, but at the end of the day it’s his decision and it didn’t go my way.”
“At the moment I’m trying to rediscover my best form, and I want to be back at the top of the world game in the not-too-distant future.” Added the Mexican
Dos Santos admitted that he is enjoying his time with the club and his agent will hold talks to make a permanent move in the summers.
