Tottenham Hotspur midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Niko-Kranjcar-c27926 keen to move to Italian Serie A
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international and Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Niko Kranjcar is looking to make a move out of the Premier League club to join an Italian outfit in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Kranjcar has played only 33 matches for the Spurs so far. Head coach Harry Redknapp allowed him to start the game for the Spurs a mere three times and that has built up the frustration of lack of first team action. The rarity of chances to start for the
club has left the midfielder disappointed.
“Is there a point of beginning next season as a bit-part player? None whatsoever,” Kranjcar said.
The Lilywhites have already rejected Werder Bremen’s request of Kranjcar’s purchase in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The Spurs invested in Kranjcar in 2009 when he was playing as a striker for Portsmouth FC. During his three years at Pompey, he donned the blue jersey 83 times but eventually the same bad luck lurked around him; he managed only 9 goals during that time.
Moving to Tottenham was a great first-team opportunity but he failed to capitalise it. He is now looking to play in Italy, though he remains undecided about the side he wants to play for.
“I have an agreed meeting with the chairman (Daniel Levy) and the manager (Redknapp), it should happen within a week,” he said.
Even if he is allowed to play in Italy by Tottenham, it is unlikely he will get out of White Hart Lane before the summer transfer window because of his contract with the Premier League side which is set to expire in 2012.
Kranjcar thinks that Italian football is more suited to his style of play and there is strong chance that he might get used to the League in no time.
“I would definitely be interested in moving to Italy. I think I would adapt quickly to Italian football,” said the midfielder.
