Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Rafael van der Vaart praised Gareth Bale, the 22-year-old winger, who has been in exceptional form for the London side in the past few matches. According to Van der Vaart, Bale played a major role in the win over Wigan Athletic
over the weekend.

more defenders in the upcoming matches.
Van der Vaart said while speaking to reporters:
“Bale is great, so quick and strong.
I'm just glad I don't have to mark him. I feel sorry for those that do. There have been a lot of cards for fouls against him, but that's because it's impossible to stop him at times.”
The youngster plays as a winger and as a left-back, which has made him a sought after player in the English Premier League. Van der Vaart felt it was Bale’s runs that the oppositions’ defenders feared, which is why they resorted to unfair tactics in order
to contain him.
He continued:
“Gareth goes on one of those amazing runs, and all a defender can do is resort to kicking him or pulling him down.
Sometimes, when he has been floored, you think the challenge has been so bad that he is heading for hospital. But he bounces back up again, and you just look on in admiration.”
Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp felt the English Premier League referees had to be watchful of fouls on Bale. He said the only way to stop players from fouling Bale was to continue giving out yellow and red cards, which would act as a deterrent
in the future.
The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder revealed he was certain his side would go on to improve as the season progressed.
