Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro confident of his team’s chances of finishing fourth
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Sandro Ranieri, is confident that his team can still claim the fourth spot come the end of the 2010/11 Premier League season.
Spurs are currently placed on the sixth spot and their chances of qualifying for the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League are in serious doubt. Harry Redknapp’s men drift fourth placed Manchester City by seven points and with only four matches left to play in the
season, it looks like a tall order for them to finish fourth.
Sandro is still retaining hope of a Manchester City collapse in the remaining matches of the campaign and believes that his team needs to return to winning ways soon to stand any chance of overturning the deficit.
Talking to the reporters, Sandro said, "Fourth position for us is difficult but not impossible. We want to win all our matches and to be ready if Manchester City fail. Our challenge is to be playing in Europe next season. For me, Champions League football
is important and I am playing better recently and would like to carry on improving my reputation next season."
The Spurs had an impressive debut UEFA Champions League campaign this season and made it to the quarter-finals of the competition. The lilywhites topped their group ahead of Italian Champions, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan and defeated A.C Milan in the round-of-16 of the
competition before getting knocked out of the campaign at the hands of Real Madrid.
Sandro, who was the man of the match in the second-leg of the last 16 round against AC Milan, reckons that Champions League football is very important for him to grow as a player and enhance his reputation in the game.
