Tottenham Hotspur defensive midfielder Sandro has revealed he believes his side can go on to win the Premier League, despite losing 3-2 to league leaders Manchester City in their last fixture.
The defeat to the Citizens leaves Tottenham Hotspur eight points clear of the top spot on the Premier League table and they will have to win their upcoming fixtures to ensure they are able to remain in the title race. The Brazilian was confident the London
side had what it took to make a late comeback.
The 22-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international was unable to feature for the Spurs in the defeat to Manchester City as he was sidelined with a calf injury. However, he is expected to return for Tottenham Hotspur shortly and revealed he was full of confidence for the
upcoming fixtures.
Sandro said while speaking to reporters:
“We've still got our minds on the title, for sure.
That's been our objective since we started working our way up to the top of the table.
We've got a great squad, and we've got to think bigger than just a Champions League place.”
The Spurs had a fantastic unbeaten run when Sandro was in the team, going ten fixtures without a single defeat. Sandro was confident his return would also bring back their luck which had seen the side in top unbeaten form in the English Premier League.
He believed he had a lot to do with the Spurs doing well the Premier League, with the midfielder making a difference for the London side. Sandro admitted he was looking forward to his impending return since he believed that would help his team.
He revealed:
“I've been thinking about that run lately and the other wins we've had when I've come off the bench. I'm pleased with the stats and with how it's all working out.
Things have gone well whenever I've played this season, and that's why I feel we're still in the mix for the title.”
Sandro has made 12 appearances so far this season and despite having not scored a single goal, the holding midfielder has contributed with one assist.
