Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro refuses to rule out Roma move in the future
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Sandro admitted that he had received interest from a number of clubs in the summer transfer window, but was currently going to focus at working hard with the Spurs. The 22-year-old defensive midfielder revealed he was confident
the London club could finish in the top four of the English Premier League table this season.
Among other clubs, Serie A side Roma were reportedly in the lead to sign the Brazilian midfielder in the summer transfer window. While there were negotiations between the two sides, they failed to reach an agreement and Sandro could not complete the move
to Italy. The player confirmed he would someday like to play in Italy but was for now was going to remain at White Hart Lane.
Sandro said in an interview:
“Roma were not the only side interested in me, there were others too. The problem was that no offer arrived.
Nevertheless, I'm happy that a big club like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 were keen, especially as they play in an important championship.
I'd certainly like to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 at some point in the future. It would be another forward step in my career.”
Sandro joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2010 for an undisclosed fee from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Internacional-c39573, claiming that he felt the London side were a great fit for him. He said that he was attracted to their constant growth and development, which was one of the
reasons he had chosen Tottenham Hotspur instead of the other clubs that had shown interest.
Since arriving at Tottenham Hotspur, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858 international has made 19 appearances in the Premier League and has found the back of the net once. After a disappointing fifth place finish last season, Sandro was confident he could help the Spurs reach a
higher finish at the end of the current season and hopefully secure a UEFA Champions League spot next season.
He continued:
“I'm convinced we'll have a good season at Tottenham. It's a great club, with great players. I believe we can finish in the top three or four this term.”
