Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Steven Pienaar looking to regain in his place after returning from injury

The 29-year-old South African was certain he had returned for good this time and would be able to add to his 12 appearances for the Spurs since he signed for them in the January transfer window of 2011.
Pienaar has had a list of injury problems which have kept him sidelined since his arrival at White Hart Lane. “Before the operation we thought we would wait and see how the groin injury developed but it just got worse.
I had the operation, things were going well, but then I had two setbacks. Sometimes when you try to get back early, that happens.”
Tottenham Hotspur take on Rubin Kazan in the UEFA Europa League and despite being cleared by the medical team, Pienaar awaits the manager’s decision. “When you get injured, you fall down the pecking order. You are basically the bottom of the pile, but you have to make sure you get fit, be patient and work hard.”
