Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed the signing of Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Nelsen-c31992 after his contract with his former side was terminated.
Nelsen who was surprisingly released by the Rovers on the deadline day of the winter transfer window was snapped up by Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp. The London side have been in desperate need of defenders for the second half of the season.

Nelsen.
There were scouts sent to watch the player feature in a reserve game against Huddersfield and they were impressed as Nelsen was signed the same day. Tottenham Hotspur assistant manager Kevin Bond revealed Nelsen would be available for the clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809
in the Premier League on Monday.
Bond said while speaking to reporters:
“He is fit and eligible to play on Monday. I've just had a cup of tea with him in the canteen. He is looking forward to the challenge.”
The Spurs are currently at third place on the Premier League table, just five points clear off the league leaders Manchester City and Manchester United. In addition to that they have gone on to make it to the fifth round of the FA Cup which has given Nelsen
hope of silverware this season.
Nelsen said in an interview:
“Medals, trophies are things you strive for. Blackburn got to five semis and never made a final, so it's very exciting.”
