Tottenham Hotspur striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 on team belief
Tottenham Hotspur striker on loan from Manchester City Emmanuel Adebayor hailed the team spirit and belief, which had seen them come from behind to secure a 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion over the weekend. The Spurs defeated the home side to win all three
points and maintain a good spot on the Premier League table.
Along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359, Emmanuel Adebayor was the goal scorer for the Spurs, with the pair successfully linking up to score once again. Even though, the Togolese striker missed a penalty in the match, he more than made up for it when
he scored two goals for the Spurs.
Adebayor said while speaking to the club’s official website:
“You could see when they scored that no-one panicked, we told ourselves to keep going, to keep the belief that we could come back and win. We all know what we can do.”
It was as early as the tenth minute that the home side scored the opener, but after just 15 minutes, the visitors had scored the equalizer. After that it was all down-hill for the hosts as they witnessed Tottenham Hotspur take all three points with three
goals.
Adebayor believed it was never in doubt whether or not his side were going to win, despite having conceded an early goal. He felt it was due to the belief within the team and the faith that they could come back and win the game, which they did.
He revealed:
“I think even if we're 1-0, 2-0 down, we could come back and win because we have the ability and belief to come back.
Even going behind didn't affect us because we've got the capacity to come back and win the game and that's what we did.”
The Manchester City striker was especially proud of the fact that his side had won the away fixture, having previously done well in matches at White Hart Lane. He congratulated his side and said he was certain they could continue with their unbeaten run.
Adebayor continued:
“It's always good to show team spirit, character and personality. This win said a lot of things.”
