The Spurs are currently on a three match winning streak and even though the Gunners seem to be on the way
up, the hosts are the favourites to win tonight’s match.
This will be Defoe’s 15th appearance in a north London derby and the 28-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international admitted he expected a tough match. He revealed he was looking forward to his participation in the match, having missed out on the trip to Wigan
Athletic last week.
Defoe said in an interview:
“It's the big one, a massive game
Games like these are the ones you want to play in. I will definitely be ready for it. I'm sure the fans can't wait and we can't either.”
With the squad in a better form after their poor start to the season, Defoe was confident they would be able to secure a decent result against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526
on a season long loan move to the club.
As compared to last season’s nine goals in 30 appearances all season, the English striker has already gone on to find the back of the net four times in seven appearances. Defoe revealed his side were aiming a win against Arsenal, like they had done against
Liverpool just a few weeks ago.
He continued:
“With the way that we are playing, we are confident. If we play like we did against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, with the same intensity, the same passing and the same movement that we did against them, then I can't see why we can't win the game.”
Defoe said he had been disappointed to miss out on the clash against Wigan because of illness, but confirmed he had recovered completely and was fit for facing Arsenal. The striker said he hoped to continue scoring goals for his team, especially in the upcoming
match.
Defoe revealed:
“I was happy to score again. I have always said that once I get back in to the habit of scoring I'll feel like I can score in every game.”
