Russian side Spartak Moscow confirmed they were considering the possibility to signing ex –striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roman-Pavlyuchenko-c31639 again. Manager Valery Karpin confirmed interest in the out of favour Tottenham Hotspur forward.
The 30-year-old striker joined Spartak Moscow in 2003 and became the most creative striker for the Russian outfit during his time at the club. He made a total of 141 appearances in the League, during which time he managed to find the back of the net 69 times.
It was in September 2008 that Pavlyuchenko tried his luck in the English Premier League by moving to Tottenham Hotspur. A transfer fee of £14 million was agreed for the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 international, who made his debut in September and shortly after scored his debut
goal.
However, during his time at White Hart Lane, Pavlyuchenko has always remained third or fourth choice to manager Harry Redknapp. A few years ago he was behind the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359. With the departure of the first two,
he now finds himself behind http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526, Rafael van der Vaart and Jermain Defoe.
During his time at the London club, Pavlyuchenko has made a total of 75 appearances in the Premier League and has scored 20 goals. However, this season he has made just two appearances as a substitute in the League, which has confirmed his departure from
Tottenham Hotspur.
He was linked with a move to newly promoted English Premier League side Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, but according to his agent he did not want the move. The striker was hoping for a move to a European side and despite being offered to QPR, rejected the move.
The Russian forward was also linked with a move to Russian outfit Lokomotiv Moscow, the details of which are yet to be released. However, now that his former club have shown interest, it seems highly likely that he could make a return to Spartak Moscow.
The Spartak Moscow manager Valery Karpin revealed that they were indeed interested in the striker and were considering bringing him back, amongst other options. Karpin said while speaking to reporters:
“He is one player on our list of targets. We consider many and he is one.”
