Tottenham Hotspur striker Roman Pavlyuchenko’s agent revealed that the 30-year-old was close to joining Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, but was still waiting for a better offer.
Pavlyuchenko has an impressive record for the Spurs, but so far has made just four substitute appearances in the English Premier League. The lack of first team football has encouraged the Russian forward to consider his options.
It seems he has decided on a move away and is currently considering his options. So far, many English Premier League sides have expressed interest in the Tottenham Hotspur striker but it seems he is intent on a move away from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
If that is the case then a return to Spartak Moscow could also been in the cards for Pavlyuchenko, but according to his agent he would rather prefer a big money move to Anzhi. The Russian side have reportedly already offered him a three year contract to
lure him away from White Hart Lane.
According to his agent the striker initially wanted to remain in the English Premier League and was considering a move to newly promoted side Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314. However, after much consideration he seems to have decided on a move to Anzhi.
His agent said while speaking to reporters:
“At the beginning, Roman absolutely ignored Anzhi. He wasn't against going back to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991, but not to the Makhachkala-based team, but Pavlyuchenko is tired of the uncertainty and the lack of match action.”
The player’s agent confirmed that he had a concrete offer from Anzhi and was considering making the move since it would be the most profitable decision for him. He revealed the player had decided to wait for better offers before accepting Anzhi’s offer.
He continued:
“He has a concrete offer from Anzhi in his hand. This offer is very good and profitable. Roman will accept it unless he gets a better offer.”
Pavlyuchenko joined the London side in the summer transfer window of 2008 for a fee of £14 million from Russian side Spartak Moscow. So far he has gone on to make 76 appearances in the Premier League and has found the back of the net 21 times.
