Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero inked a two-year contract extension with the Spanish giants on Monday, putting an end to speculation about a possible move to the Premier League.

are to be believed, Tottenham Hotspur were also reported to have shown interest in the striker. Spurs reportedly made a 38.5-million-pound bid for Aguero, something that manager Harry Redknapp was quick to deny.
However, the 22-year-old Aguero has put an end to the conjecture with his contract extension. Aguero’s new deal will keep him at the club until 2014. Now, it looks like Harry Redknapp will have to look elsewhere
to bring a better striker to White Hart Lane, but it is highly unlikely for the manager to find someone better than the Argentine striker.
The striker confirmed that he would be staying in Madrid in an official statement. Aguero devoted his immediate future to Atletico Madrid by saying, “I'm staying here because I want to.”
