Tottenham Hotspur to lose Niko Kranjcar to Sunderland, Harry Redknapp interested in Real Madrid’s Lassana Diarra

Kranjcar to Sunderland
Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international has decided to join the Black Cats for regular football, something he was not
provided with the Spurs. Under Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp, Kranjcar started just two games in the Premier League.
The rest of his contribution was from the bench, which is why the Croatian is looking to join Steve Bruce’s side. The Sunderland manager admitted his interest in the playmaker last week and begun efforts to secure the move. Kranjcar will be Bruce’s 11th
signing in the current transfer window, with the manager having previously brought in ten other players.
It is not yet clear whether Sunderland are signing Kranjcar on a loan deal or if the player will be signed on a more permanent basis. While it was initially believed the Croatian playmaker was joining Sunderland on a loan move, with intent to return to White
Hart Lane at the end of the season, it now seems Kranjcar could join the side on a permanent contract.
Kranjcar’s agent, Aljai, confirmed that the player was indeed close to moving to Sunderland and that it would be good for him. He believed the Croatian would play much more regularly under Bruce than he had under Redknapp, who preferred other options over
Kranjcar. The move is expected to be completed shortly, within the next few days.
Aljai said while speaking to reporters:
“We are about to close a deal with Sunderland.
I believe that is the best solution for Niko.”
Redknapp eyes Lassana Diarra
Harry Redknapp confirmed he was looking into bringing Lassana Diarra midfielder to the club, after having talks with Real Madrid about the 26-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 international. It emerged that the Spurs boss was interested in the French midfielder earlier in
the month.
It seems that Redknapp has already begun talks with the La Liga giants over a possible move for the defensive midfielder. Having previously managed the player while at Portsmouth, Redknapp is aware of the quality Diarra possesses.
Apart from Portsmouth, the Frenchman has featured for London sides http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. The holding midfielder signed with Madrid in the winter transfer window of 2009 for a fee of £20 million on a long-term deal.
Redknapp said in an interview:
“As for Diarra, I like him.
It's a possibility. [The chairman's] been trying for us. He's been trying to do something there.”
