Tottenham Hotspur to re-sign Dimitar Berbatov from Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp has been on the prowl looking to bring in some re-enforcements to strengthen his strike force for next season. As a result the manager seems to be turning his attention to a former Spurs player, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dimitar-Berbatov-c11254,
who is currently employed by Manchester United.
The player has spent an awful amount of time warming the benches this season and is hence being favoured to be on his way out of Old Trafford at the end of the season.
The striking force at Tottenham at the moment consists of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741. However, all the attackers combined have just managed to score a mere thirteen goals in the league this term and have scored another fifteen in
the UEFA Champions League.
Redknapp feels that those stats are simply not good enough and as a result is h**l-bent on strengthening his offensive options.
Berbatov made his debut in the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, when he was signed from Bayer Leverkusen at the start of the 2006 season. The striker proved to be a destructive force at the White Hart Lane and managed to score an impressive 46 goals
in the 102 outings he made for the club.
However, a big money offer made by United for the player in the 2008 season, saw him join the Red Devils for a fee said to be worth around 31-million-pounds. Berbatov, by no means has had a poor run at United, in fact the player has scored 48 goals in a
123 appearances for the club.
What has stood in the players path though, is the emergence of Javier Hernandez, who seems to be stealing the player’s limelight at the club and is now usually preferred over the Bulgarian international.
As a result, it was felt that Berbatov was going to be on his way out of United at the end of the season, but if Tottenham can have their way, then the striker would just be coming back home to the White Hart Lane.
Alex Ferguson has shown some signs of interest in landing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 and if Tottenham are to make an offer for Berbatov, then Alex Ferguson will try to use this as an opportunity to land the talented Welshman.
However, it seems like Redknapp is just willing to offer a straight cash offer for the player, which means that in order for this deal to go through, both the managers are going to have to meet half way.
