Tottenham Hotspur will host Aston Villa at White Hart Lane this weekend after their impressive and historic 2-3 victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Spurs have finally kick started their season with three consecutive victories, and will be eying another win as they take on a Villa side that has experienced a fairly poor start to their season.
Villa’s last game ended in a draw against West Brom at home, and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paul-c29347 Lambert will be expecting a tough encounter as Villa travel to North London to take on an in-form Spurs side.
Tottenham Hotspur
Expected starting line-up:
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Lennon-c3062, Gareth Bale.
Tottenham are expected to field out the same team that defeated Manchester United last weekend. With first choice left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto still out of the side, Tottenham will play Belgian centre-half Jan Vertonghen in his position. The defender has
been perhaps one of their best players lately.
The midfield is unchanged after an impressive performance at Old Trafford, with Moussa Dembele playing the central midfield role. Clint Dempsey scored his first goal for the club against United, and will play behind the in-form http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 and wingers
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 and Aaron Lennon.
Striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408.
Tottenham have a strong squad, which has pace, trickery and a constant goal threat in its http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429.
Aston Villa
Expected starting line-up:
Brad Guzan, Ron Vlaar, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Benteke-c9056, Darren Bent
Aston Villa have a decent squad, but it is still relatively new and needs time to settle and gel together. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Guzan-c7954 is expected to start in goal for the club after a series of impressive performances. The American continues to restrict veteran keeper Shay
Given to the bench.
Up front, captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ron-Vlaar-c31697 will pair with Ciaran Clark in the centre half role, with Bennett and Lowton playing as full-backs.
El-Ahmadi will start in the holding midfielder role, a position he has made his own ever since he arrived from Dutch outfit http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258.
Holman and Albrighton will start on the flanks and up front, the impressive Belgian striker Christian Benteke is expected to start alongside http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international,
despite being impressive himself.
Prediction
I predict a Tottenham win, but Aston Villa will pose problems for them. The pace and trickery of Benteke, Bent, Holman and Albrighton will cause trouble for Gallas and Caulker, but I expect Vertonghen and Walker to keep them quiet and make it easy for their
centre backs.
I’m backing Jermain Defoe and Clint Dempsey to be on the score sheet and Aston Villa may just grab a consolation due to Spurs’ suspected defence.
Final score: 2-1.
