Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale claims his side will end Arsenal’s title dreams
Tottenham Hotspur winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 has shot out a warning to archrivals Arsenal ahead of their Premier League encounter.
The Welshman claims that his side will defeat the Gunners and put an end to their hopes of winning the Barclays Premier League title once and for all.
Bale, who recently won the Professional Footballers Association Player of the Year award, believes that a win against Arsenal is just what Spurs need to propel themselves into the top four in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Bale said, “I remember last season how big that win over Arsenal was and how it set us up for the run-in. Not only did it mean we had beaten our closest rivals for the first time in a long time but it kick-started us on the winning
streak which took us to fourth and was an amazing achievement.”
It is no secret that the Spurs have set their sights on next season’s Champions League tournament. Now that Tottenham have had a taste of Europe’s biggest club competition, it will be difficult to go back to the relatively tame Europa League. However, if
they want to retain their Champions League status, Harry Redknapp’s men will have to earn the points that can take them ahead of fourth placed Manchester City.
Gareth Bale has admitted that playing in both the Champions League and the Premier League was a huge drain on the players, but he claims that they will be ready for the challenge should they manage to enter the competition next season.
The Welshman added, “It’s going to be difficult but we are up for the challenge and we're going to give it 100 per cent. It's massively important that we get back in the Champions League.”
Tottenham are currently placed fifth in the Premier League standings, three points adrift of fourth placed Manchester City.
