http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 and did not rule out a permanent return if he managed to secure a place in the starting XI.
The player left Everton just a year ago to join Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent basis but was disappointed when he failed to secure a place in the first team. Pienaar went on to make just seven appearances in the Premier League, with two of those as a substitute.
Pienaar said while speaking to reporters:
“It was a bad start with the groin injury when I joined (Spurs) and I had an operation in the summer and that slowed things down a bit.
Of course if you get injured then when you get back fit and the team is playing really well you just have to wait for your chance.”
Tottenham Hotspur are currently in the title race at third position on the Premier League table, just five points clear off the top. Manager Harry Redknapp was unable to adjust the new arrival into his squad, which left Pienaar on the bench.
The player admitted he was delighted to have returned to Goodison Park, where he was certain he would go on to make more of an impact. Pienaar admitted his injury had a lot to do with the fact that he had been unable to play regular football for the London
side.
He continued:
“I was waiting and eventually had to make a decision. I want to play football and am not getting any younger.
I had a word with the manager (Harry Redknapp) and we came to an agreement that I could go.
You never know what will happen in football, things change every day.”
According to the South African, he had spoken to Redknapp regarding the possibility of a return to Everton so he could play regular football and the English manager had been open to the idea. Pienaar also hinted at the fact that he could move to Goodison
Park on a permanent basis depending on his success at his former club in the second half of the 2011-2012 season.
