Tottenham Hotspur’s Alan Hutton says Gareth Bale is good enough to play for any team
Tottenham Hotspur right-back Alan Hutton has said that Gareth Bale is good enough to “play for any team in the world”.
Bale hit the headlines following his sensational hat-trick against European Cup holders Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, 20 October.
The 21-year-old winger has been in outstanding form for the English Premier League club this season, causing right-backs no end of problems as he attacks down the left and cuts into the middle. The Wales international has netted six goals and set up several
others for his team-mates in his 13 matches so far this season.
Following his treble against Inter, Bale’s stock has risen yet again and he has been linked with several heavyweights of the European game, including AC Milan, Real Madrid, Juventus and EPL rivals Manchester United.
Scotland international Hutton thinks that Bale would fit in nicely at any of those high-profile clubs, such is the attacker’s ability, and can pose a threat to any defence.
'Great talent on the big stage'
Hutton told The Sun that: "Of course there are a lot of teams who would want Gareth. He could play for any team in the world so Tottenham will be desperate to hold on to him, he's a great talent on the big stage. Maicon is supposed to be one of the best
full-backs in the world but Gareth caused him all sorts of problems so I am sure he can do that anywhere in the world.
"Gareth's finishing is deadly. You might expect it from natural goalscorers like Jermain Defoe but Gareth also has that in his locker. He has that magic touch for goals and he proved it again against the Champions League title holders Inter Milan.
"To get three goals anywhere is good for your pride but to get three goals in Italy against the champions is pretty sensational. You come to expect it of him. I hope he scores a hat-trick every time he plays now!"
