Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale confirms he is fully fit for next season
Tottenham Hotspur left flank star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 revealed he was fully fit, ahead of the upcoming season. The 22-year-old had picked up a nagging ankle injury in the latter part of the season, which had kept him sidelined for the second half of the campaign.
However, the Welsh international revealed he had recovered and was ready to feature for the Spurs in the new season.
Bale said while speaking to reporters:
“I've got back from my ankle injury and don't feel anything at all.
I feel good, the whole team feels good and I think that shows.”
Bale proved his return to fitness by setting up a goal in the clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/South-Africa-c757 a success. Despite claiming
the trophy, Bale admitted it had been difficult, having previously lost to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kaizer-Chiefs-c39659 during the tournament.
Bale continued:
“I don't think we played to our best in the first two matches, but we showed what a good team we are in the final and showed the South African fans what we're all about.
We want to win every game but the important thing is fitness. The matches were a real test.”
Bale signed for the London side in the summer of 2007 from Football League side Southampton for an inflated fee of £7 million. The youngster arrived at White Hart Lane having been named the Football League Young Player of the Year after a highly impressive
2006-2007 season with Southampton. He made a total of 45 appearances and found the back of the net 5 times.
