Tottenham Hotspur’s Gareth Bale looking for 2012 Euro qualification after winning Wales Footballer of the Year award again
Tottenham Hotspur star http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 revealed he was motivated to perform better after being awarded the Wales Footballer of the Year award for the second time. The 22-year-old left-back c*m left-winger was awarded the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year 2010 along with the Wales Player of the Year Award the same year and has gone on to win it again.
The player received his award yesterday, which marks an extraordinary career for both club and country over the past year. Bale made a total of 42 appearances for the Spurs in all competitions, during which he scored 11 goals, most of which were in important fixtures. Unfortunately he missed the international fixtures due to injury, but has done exceptionally well before that.
Bale said in an interview:
“It's always nice to win an award, especially when you look at the names who have previously won this award, it's great to be among them.
I want to play as well as I can every game at club or international level and always give 100 per cent. It is good to get awards but as a team the most important thing is we have stayed together and we have progressed.”
Bale will be with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Switzerland-c3016 in 2012 Euro qualifiers, with the left-flank player having scored a goal against the Swiss last year.
While he was aware it would be tough earning a qualification, owing to the Dragons' poor form in the qualification campaign, Bale remained confident in his side’s chances of making it through. He revealed it was essential to remain confident and retain belied that they had the ability to continue getting decent results. Wales are currently bottom of their group, but wins in their upcoming fixtures could guarantee them passage into the next round.
He revealed:
"The most important thing now is we have that confidence from the last two games and we want to take that form forward. If we can do that we can start to go places and start winning games."
