Tottenham Hotspur’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luka-Modric-c22857 will not hand in a transfer request, agent confirms – EPL News
Want-away Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric’s agent, Nikky Vuksan, has confirmed that the Croatian playmaker will not hand in a transfer request despite being heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane.
Modric has been a revelation at Tottenham Hotspur since his arrival from Croatian outfit, Dinamo Zagreb, for £16.5 million in 2008. The 25-year-old played a huge role in helping Tottenham Hotspur to qualify for their first ever UEFA Champions League two seasons ago.
Moreover, Modric was also the one the standout performers of the Spurs’ team that reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League and finished fifth in the Barclays Premier League last season.
A number of European clubs have registered their interest in the Croatian playmaker but Tottenham Hotspur are reluctant to let him leave White Hart Lane.
Despite being heavily interested in making a move to Chelsea, Modric will not hand in a transfer request, confirmed his agent.
Vuksan said, “I don't think he'll hand in a transfer request. He will honour his contract.
Vuksan revealed Modric’s ambition to play in the UEFA Champions League and win silverware – a factor which Tottenham Hotspur cannot offer as they failed to qualify for the Champions League after finishing fifth in the Barclays Premier League.
He added, “He wants to play Champions League and win trophies. The only way we can resolve this is to sit down and talk. Luka will report today for training and will do his best, as always."
Vuksan has also revealed that a number of clubs are interested to land Modric but admits that only http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 have officially contacted Tottenham Hotspur for the Croatian playmaker.
“The only official offer so far is from Chelsea and we haven't talked to any clubs. It's no surprise that there is interest in Luka though, because he is a top, top player,” added Vuksan.
Chelsea made an official offer of £22 million for the Croatian playmaker. The Blues owner, Roman Abramovich, sees Modric as a perfect addition to the current Chelsea squad, as the Blues are aiming for the Champions League title next season.
