Tottenham Hotspur’s Scott Parker ahead on Stoke City clash
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker admitted his side faced a tough test when they took on Stoke City over the weekend in the English Premier League. However, he was certain his side would continue with their top form and winning ways.
Despite a shaky start to the season, the London side are currently in top form and have been unbeaten in ten of their last 11 fixtures. A win over Stoke City will make it their seventh consecutive win and they will overtake second place Manchester United
in the Premier League table.
However, Tottenham Hotspur play away at Britannia Stadium, which is a tough task for the best of teams. Parker admitted he recognized the tough fixture that awaited them and revealed they were doing their best to prepare for the trip.
Parker revealed in an interview:
“It is a difficult place to go to. The way they play, they put you under a lot of pressure at times.
There's no doubt, we're going to have to go there and defend as a team and hopefully show our quality going forward to go and win the game.”
Parker revealed his team were wary of Stoke City defender and long throw expert http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rory-Delap-c31779, and were trying to strategize how to contain the player. According to the former West Ham United man, the London side had to focus on their defence.
He admitted:
“We're on a very good run at the moment and things are going pretty well. It's about keeping our form, keeping our confidence and continuing to try and grind out results.”
As long as Tottenham Hotspur remained confident and defended as a team, Parker was certain they would get a positive result from the fixture. He revealed the team knew what they had to do and were confident going into the game as they were determined, now
more than ever, to win the Premier League title instead of just finishing in the top four.
Parker continued:
“We're confident, we have a rhythm to our game, we know what we need to do, we know how to play. We just need to maintain that.”
