Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Scott Parker has revealed that he believes his side are still title contenders despite their slip up against Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend.
The former West Ham United man also warned Manchester City to be wary of the Spurs, especially with the two sides facing off next weekend. Tottenham Hotspur will be travelling to Etihad Stadium on Sunday to take on City in hopes of closing the gap between the two sides.
While they recently missed the opportunity to climb further up the table after the 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Parker was hopeful they would return to top form in time for the Manchester City clash. Despite the missed chance, the English midfielder remained positive about his side’s chances.
If they are to register a win over Manchester City, the Spurs will have a lot of improving to do before the weekend. Their performance against Wolves was less than satisfactory as the struggling side managed to secure a favourable draw.
Parker said while speaking to reporters:
“I think we can still win the title, definitely. We need to believe that we can win every game and then see where that puts us. We have to enjoy this moment and obviously be happy where we are, keep enjoying it and get the best results.
We will quickly dust ourselves down from this game and we will go to Man City looking forward to it and hopefully get the three points.
It's a big game and I am sure we will come out on the front foot looking to win.”
The 31-year-old urged his side to recover from the stalemate quickly and reinstate the belief that they could indeed secure a win over the league leaders in the upcoming clash. He admitted it was a big game and that a win was necessary for his side to remain in the title race.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952. The defender revealed he was certain Adebayor’s goal had not been offside and could have made the difference.
Dawson revealed:
“I looked at Adebayor's (goal) and was disappointed. He was onside. The rub of the green wasn't with us.”
