Joe http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester United have the edge and that Tottenham’s priority
is to qualify for the UEFA Champions League...
Tottenham have been touted up as potential champions in the English Premier League title race but Harry Redknapp’s men dropped points against Manchester City a week ago which dented their chance of making it big impact on the title
race.
Spurs have done really well since the start of the season to keep pace with the likes of City and Manchester United but as the season enters into a pivotal turn, it will be interesting to see whether Harry’s team can keep up with
the two front runners. Spurs are currently third in the English Premier League and after losing out to Manchester City on the last weekend, they are now more than three points behind Manchester United who are placed second in the Premier League table.
With players such as Lennon, Modric, Van der Vaart, Defoe and Bale in their line up, Tottenham do have the talent to take it to the next level but Joe Jordan, their first team coach is adamant that the club’s priority is finishing
in the top four and getting a UEFA Champions League qualification spot for the next football season.
He said, "Tottenham and City won their last championship in the 1960s so it goes without saying it's harder [for either of those sides] to win it. United and Chelsea in recent years have proved they are champions and know how to
do it. United, who have come in for a bit of criticism, are where they are not just because they have quality players, they have the knowledge of how to maintain the consistency.”
He added, "You would like to think that if we don't get stupid injuries and suspensions, that we could put up a [title] challenge. Champions League is our priority, but we would like to get it by finishing either third, second
or first."
