Tottenham Wants Fabiano and Redknapp Is Desperate to Pick a Spot in the Top Four (Part 3)
Right now, the team’s strikers comprise of Defoe; who habitually plays alongside the last defender and comes up with counter attacks, Crouch; who is used as a target man as he has a very deceptive touch for being such a huge man, Pavlyuchenko; who is said to have a bit of every Tottenham’s forward in him and is also known as a jack of all trades but master of none. Still his role in the game is usually a very important one. If Tottenham Spurs do bring on another striker, Redknapp would most probably make the decision of moving the Russian striker.
At present, the chances of Tottenham actually being able to strike a deal for this ten to fifteen million pound player are very slim if almost next to nothing. Another deal that looked like a good opportunity for the Spurs was when Marseille seemed interested in Pavlyuchenko. This was during the summers with major reason being that this deal was feasible, only if Loic Remy’s move fell through. But the striker’s worrying medical report came through which has now confirmed that this fifteen million pounds transfer is well off the table now.
Lassana Diarra is another name that comes to mind while considering new recruits. The ex-Portsmouth player was told that he had no future at Real Madrid after which his agent contacted Tottenham Spurs to inform them that the player was up for grabs right now. On this, the Hotspurs offered to take the player on loan but Real Madrid demanded eight and a half million pounds for him. Levy and Redknapp are both keen to bring Diarna to the White Hart lane due to the fact that he is a very talented player but the issue comes with the players pay rate. He would have to cut his weekly earnings to almost half if he comes to White Hart lane.
Taking into account the fact that every other team has been slow in the transfer market this summer, it seems that Tottenham Hotspurs will have to wait before spending most of their transfer cash and will also have to secure a spot in the Champions League on their own. As far as Diarra and Fabiano are concerned, it looks like the Spurs will now have to wait till January before practically considering their transfer move. The only problem left is that Harry Redknapp knows full and well that these are world class players and there will be no shortage of buyers for them when the next transfer market opens.
