Tottenham are reportedly lining up a bid for Porto’s Brazilian midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hulk-c16436 as Andre Villas-Boas attempts to beat former club Chelsea to the player’s signature.
Tottenham will compete with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 in attempting to sign Porto’s highly rated attacker Hulk. The Brazilian has long been on Chelsea’s radar, and they were looking to finally sign him this summer as the final addition to their already formidable squad.
Many expected Chelsea to complete the signing last summer when Villas-Boas arrived at Stamford Bridge from Porto. Hulk was ever present in AVB’s plans as he led Porto to the quadruple in the 2010/2011 season. AVB had also admitted that he wanted to bring
in Hulk to Chelsea when he joined them last season.
Now that Villas-Boas is at Tottenham, reports in Europe and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 suggest that he will bid for Hulk as he attempts to re-shape the Tottenham squad for the coming season. Having already signed Gylfi Sigurdsson, the highly rated Icelandic midfielder from
German outfit Hoffenheim, Villas-Boas has only weeks to assemble a squad that will challenge for top honours.
Chelsea have gone on a spending spree since their 6th place finish last season. Despite winning the Champions League and the FA Cup, many doubted the credibility of the Chelsea squad, often labelling the West London side as lucky and mediocre.
Chelsea have already signed Belgian winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Victor-Moses-c36075. Hulk will prove to be a valuable addition to these players and the Chelsea squad once they are able to release
all the deadweight.
For now, it looks like both clubs will battle each other for the Brazilian’s signature. Hulk’s agent has already said that a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 would benefit his client.
Teodoro http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fonseca-c13888, Hulk’s representative, told a magazine: "Hulk is the most coveted player in Europe this summer.”
"I never said he wants to leave Porto because he belongs to the club, but if he is sold, it has to be in the best way possible.”
"Now his dream is to play at the 2014 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858, and it is my opinion that the Premier League is the best place he could play."
