Tottenham defender Vedran Corluka to be back for training in a few weeks
Tottenham Hotspur full-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vedran-Corluka-c35947 has been confirmed with a sprained ankle.
The player suffered the injury while playing in the Champions League fixture against AC Milan, when midfielder Mathieu Flamini made a gruesome tackle on the player. The tackle could’ve easily broken the players leg but Corluka was lucky to suffer a sprain.
Flamini dived into the player’s ankle with both feet while Corluka was clearing the ball and he withstood the entire the impact of the challenge. The former Arsenal midfielder was lucky to escape with a yellow card and manager Harry Redknapp was understandably
furious by the referee’s decision.
Corluka couldn’t play the entire fixture and had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher following the horrid tackle. The Croat believed that the tackle might have ended his career, however, luckily the scans only revealed partial damage on the ankle
and the club believes that the full back would resume light training by next week. Corluka currently is wearing a protective boot for the injury but that would be removed by next week.
"Vedran Corluka will remain immobilised in a protective boot for the next four days after a scan determined that he had sprained part of his ankle joint capsule following a challenge from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Flamini-c24685 during Tuesday's Champions League round of 16 first-leg
victory over AC Milan,” stated a spokesman.
The official added that upon clinical inspection and scans from medical specialists, the player is out of danger and would resume light training by the start of the next week.
"Should the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international feel no ill effects of the injury during his gradual return to training then he should be back in full training in a few weeks," added the Tottenham official.
Tottenham players, fans and management were delighted by the performance they managed to display at the San Siro. Milan were outplayed the entire 90 minutes and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741 remained the most dangerous man for the them.
