Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle wants Gareth Bale to stay at White Hart Lane: EPL News
Tottenham Hotspur legend, Glenn Hoddle, has urged http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422 to remain at White Hart Lane. Hoddle’s comments come in the wake of the increasing speculation that the young Welshman could
be on his way out of the club in the summer.
Bale, who was recently crowned the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year, is one of Tottenham's brightest talents. The winger has been attracting a lot of attention
from the biggest clubs in Europe, leading to reports that he would leave for greener pastures at the end of the current season of the Barclays Premier League.
However, Hoddle believes that a move out of White Hart Line would hurt the players burgeoning career. The Spurs legend is not asking Bale to commit his future to the club, but he wants
the youngster to mature as a player before he takes such a significant step.
Speaking on the matter, Hoddle said, “He had his problems when he first went to Spurs with injuries. But it just shows you what confidence and belief can change things around. He has his
feet on the floor, he has just signed a new contract and I think he might make a mistake if he moves now. If he was every going to move, it should be in two or three years' time -
mature a little bit more, find out what the game is all about.”
The former Tottenham star went on to add that Bale would be a good fit at Barcelona, as his style is naturally suited to the Catalan way of football.
He said, "I would say he would suit Barcelona. The way Barcelona play with a left-back but don't play them at left-back, they play with left or right wingers.”
Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League standings and they are currently three points adrift of the fourth-placed Manchester City. If the Spurs do not improve their game for
the remaining matches of the season, City will be more than happy to relieve them of their Champions League status.
