The former Real Madrid player has revealed that he plans on returning to Dutch top flight as he believes he should give something back to the league from where he started his career.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Rafael van der Vaart, has hinted on plying his trade in Dutch Eredivisie before hanging up his boots.
The 29-year-old is a product of Ajax Amsterdam youth academy and started his professional career at Amsterdam Arena in the 2000/01 season. He enjoyed tremendous success with the Amsterdam giants during his five-year stint before moving to the Bundesliga
outfit, Hamburger, in the summer of 2005.
The Dutch ace has since developed into one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe, enjoying successful stints at Real Madrid and now at White Hart Lane.
Van der Vaart is of the view that his time in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753 benefited him a lot and has insisted that he wants to finish his career playing in the Dutch top tier.
“Personally I see it as an obligation to return to Netherlands to play football. I have a feeling that I should give something back to Eredivisie for what it meant to me. I could grow, develop myself and make the move abroad”, Van der Vaart was quoted as
saying to Voetbal International.
The veteran midfielder went on to praise the fact that the former Oranje legends are now leading top clubs in the highest echelons of Dutch football.
“Van Basten coaches Heerenveen, Koeman is at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281. I find that beautiful as everyone benefits”, Van der Caart concluded.
The 29-year-old midfielder arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2010 after making 58 appearances for the Madrid giants. He has thus far represented the Lilywhites in 56 matches and managed to hit the back of the net on 22 occasions while setting up
plenty more along the way.
Van der Vaart has an ongoing contract at White Hart Lane that runs until the end of the 2013/14 campaign, and it seems unlikely that he would be plying his trade in Eredivisie before the summer of 2014.
