Tottenham are reportedly preparing a new and improved £13.5 million bid for French international and Lyon goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408 after an initial offer of £12 million was rejected by the French club.
The French goalkeeper was linked with North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, with reports indicating that his preferred destination was the Emirates. Arsenal apparently did not follow up their interest with an official bid, and it is believed
that Tottenham may beat their rivals to the goalkeeper’s signatures.
It now seems that Lloris is interested in a move to White Hart Lane, with negotiations regarding his transfer underway.
The club is now getting ready to make an improved bid of £13.5 million after they saw an earlier bid of £12 million rejected by Lyon.
Lloris is seen by Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas as a long-term first choice goalkeeper for the North London outfit.
Lyon have placed a £15 million price tag on the goalkeeper as they look to ease their wage structure after missing out on a Champions League spot.
However, Tottenham are unlikely to pay the full amount, and will be hoping that a mutual agreement is reached over the player’s fee as soon as possible.
Villas-Boas has identified Lloris as current goalkeeper Brad Friedel’s long-term replacement as the American, aged 41, nears retirement.
As the current French number 1, Lloris is considered as one of the top goalkeepers in Europe.
Tottenham have already acquired Gylfi Sigurdsson from Hoffenheim and Belgian centre-half http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emmanuel-Adebayor-c12526 nearing completion.
The club hopes to conduct all its transfer dealings as early as possible as they prepare for the coming season.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas revealed earlier this month that Lloris may be nearing an exit this summer. Speaking to the club’s official website, he said:
"Lloris told me that he would like to leave if he has an opportunity to play for one of the five biggest European sides."

"If any of these teams make an offer meeting his market value, €20m, he will be allowed to leave. “

"For now, though, I have not received any offers, neither from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 nor from elsewhere."
