Tottenham to practice caution in the January transfer window
Harry Redknapp has revealed in his latest interview that Tottenham will only sign the player they are looking for in the upcoming January transfer window. It was previously thought that the London club will go all out in the winter
transfer window as they are looking to compete in the English Premier League as well as the UEFA Champions League.
Redknapp has done a fantastic job with Tottenham thus far as he has guided them to the round of sixteen in the UEFA Champions League. Spurs face A.C Milan in the next stage of the UEFA Champions League, to compete against the bigger
clubs of Europe; Tottenham will have to find squad reinforcements in the January transfer window.
Harry elaborated on Spurs transfer policy as he stated, "We've got so many players here it would be hard fitting anybody in. We're not too desperate for anything. We're more than strong everywhere so unless it's someone who's a
bit special I don't think we'll be doing too much. If someone's there that we feel can make the difference - it might just be a character or leader or somebody who can give you something at the club.”
Redknapp added "If that type of person's available then we'd be interested, but at the moment we're not closing in on anything." Tottenham have been linked with Newcastle United’s striker, Andy Carroll. However Newcastle United
might not part ways with their prized striker who has already scored 10 goals in the English Premier League thus far.
Tottenham’s manager further stated, “He's (Andy Carroll) got fantastic potential. He's a top player, no doubt - he's a real handful and he's taken the Premier League by storm the first half of the season. If he was available I
think there'd be plenty of people want him because he's an old-fashioned centre-forward, but I see [Newcastle manager] Alan Pardew wants to keep him and I don't blame him so I don't see him moving."
Tottenham won their latest league match against Aston Villa by two goals to one. Their win propelled them to 27 points in the English Premier League. Spurs are looking to catch up to other title contenders such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and
Manchester City who are in third and fourth place respectively, above Tottenham who are at the fifth place spot.
