Reports reveal that Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi has become the recent target for Tottenham Spur. The Spanish striker has been in exceptional form for his side, which has caught the eye of the London side. Spurs are looking to buy a striker during the
January transfer window and Rossi seems to be on the top of Harry Redknapp’s target list at the moment.
The 23 year old striker has previously played for English Premier League giants Manchester United, leaving Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to join Villarreal in 2007. He has scored nine goals in 18 appearances this year and Villarreal could demand as much as £20
million for a mid-season transfer. The in-form striker has not yet revealed whether he would prefer a move at this stage, with 18 months remaining on his contract.
Chelsea and Tottenham compete for Paul McCallum
London sides http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Tottenham are keeping a close eye on Paul McCallum, the Dulwich Hamlet player. Sources reveal that the 18 year old will undergo a trial game with West Ham United, while the interested Premier League sides observe.
Gavin Rose, the Dulwich manager, was hopeful that one of the Premier League sides watching the player during the trial match at West Ham would make a serious offer for the player. Rose said he believed that McCallum had the potential to play in the English
Premier League.
He said while speaking to reporters, “They are all massive clubs but some of them are more proactive about wanting to come and see him while others want him in their own environment. The best thing that can happen is that someone signs him and puts him and
us out of our misery!”
Tottenham to make a move for Hulk
Tottenham are just one of the many clubs interested in Hulk, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Porto-c39186 striker. The Brazilian striker has been in excellent form and some of the top European sides are interested in bringing the player over during the winter transfer window.
According to media reports Tottenham scouts have been to watch the Brazilian star some 30 times over the past two years and are serious about bringing the player to White Hart Lane. They will be competing with big spending Manchester City, who recently bought
in Edin Dzeko.
However, the arrival of Dzeko at Manchester City reduces their chances of signing another striker, giving Spurs more hopes of signing the striker. Luis Fabiano and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mirko-Vucinic-c26024 are the other strikers on Redknapp’s list but so far Hulk remains the favorite.
Hulk has scored 24 goals in 27 appearances for the Portuguese outfit this season and his release clause could be worth anywhere from £34 million to £84 million since the club is not in full control of his future with 50% of the player owned by investors.
