Tottenham’s Match against Manchester United would be season defining: Harry Redknapp
Tottenham Hotspur’s English manager, Harry Redknapp, has claimed that if his side failed to win against Manchester United, the Red Devils will go on to win this year’s Barclays Premier League title.
Tottenham Hotspurs will play against Manchester United on Sunday, January 16th, and Harry Redknapp has already declared that his team can beat Manchester United at White Hart Lane.
Manchester United are currently leading the Barclays Premier League with 44 points under their belt out of 20 league games and Harry Redknap, whose team lost to Sir http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson’s men, 2-0, earlier this season at Old Trafford, believes that Sunday’s match
at White Hart Lane would be season defining.
Redknapp said: "It's a game we need to win to close the gap on them. If they beat us they've run away with it really. You're not going to claw back that lead. I think all those at the top will be hoping we can pull off the result, close the gap and keep
everyone involved.
If Tottenham want to win the league, we have to beat United. They keep winning but haven't hit the heights this season. Sooner or later they will hit top form and then everyone will find themselves in trouble. But we have no reason to fear anyone".
Moreover, Tottenham’s manager has also claimed that Manchester United, who is bidding to emulate Arsenal’s Invincible, does not have quality to finish this season unbeaten and has insisted that sooner or later Manchester United would have to suffer a defeat
in this season.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson has praised the straightforwardness of Harry Redknapp. United manager hit back, saying, "There will be a blip and how you handle that blip is important. Just as long as the blip is not on Sunday, if you can tell Harry that"!
Tottenham Hotspur’s record against Manchester United is not very impressive as the Spurs have failed to record a victory over the Red Devils in over 11 years.
