Tottenham's Hotspur mid-fielder, Tom Huddlestone, believes that a top four finish is within the reach for his side. Huddlestone claims that Tottenham are the masters of their own fate now, and as long as they get results, they will be able to retain their
Champions League status.
The Spurs are currently two points behind the fourth placed Manchester City. It looks like the last Champions League sport will once again go down to the wire, as both clubs will battle it out for the fourth place like they did last season. Tottenham edged
out the Sky Blues in the last campaign, but they know it will be a much more difficult proposition this time around.
The Spurs' mid-fielder, Huddlestone, said, “Fourth (in the Premier League) is still up for grabs as we’ve been saying all week. We’ve still got to play City and we’re just two points behind so it’s still in our own hands, similar to last year. We’ve got
six massive games left and if we can beat City and win majority of the other ones we won’t be far away.”
The Spurs had a chance to go level on points with City, when they welcomed Arsenal to White Hart Lane on Wednesday, April 20, 2011. That thrilling encounter ended in a 3-3 draw, but the mid-fielder, Tom Huddlestone, is not sweating too much over two dropped
points. He instead sees the result as a precious point gained in the battle for the fourth place.
Huddlestone said, “I think we are at our best when games are open and we showed that, especially in the second half. It took us a little while to get to grips with the first half but I thought there was only one team that was going to win it in the second,
and that was us. In the same game to come from behind three times against a great team like Arsenal who are pushing for the title shows great character, but I think if we can cut mistakes out and stop going behind we could be even better.”
Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League standings with 54 points.
